Early Life and Education of Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi
Adeyeye Ogunwusi was born on October 17, 1974, in Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria. He is a descendant of the Giesi Ruling House, one of the four royal houses in Ile-Ife.
His father, Prince Ropo Ogunwusi, was a civil servant, while his mother, Mrs. Wuraola Ogunwusi, was a businesswoman. Ogunwusi attended the prestigious Loyola College, Ibadan, for his secondary education.
He later obtained a Higher National Diploma in Accountancy from The Polytechnic, Ibadan. He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Management from the Lagos State University, Ojo.

Career and Business Ventures
After completing his education, Ogunwusi began his career in the real estate sector. He founded Gran Imperio Group, a property development, agriculture, and energy company.
He also served as the Managing Director of Howard Roark Gardens Limited, a real estate development company based in Lagos. In 2013, Ogunwusi was appointed Chancellor of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
He was also a member of the Advisory Board of the King’s College Business School, London, and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.
Ooni of Ife In 2015, Adeyeye Ogunwusi was selected as the 51st Ooni of Ife, succeeding Oba Okunade Sijuwade, who died earlier that year.
Selecting a new Ooni involves the kingmakers of the four ruling houses in Ile-Ife. The selection is based on various factors, including royal lineage, personal character, and achievements in various fields.
As the Ooni of Ife, Ogunwusi is responsible for the spiritual and cultural affairs of the Yoruba people, who are one of the largest ethnic groups in Nigeria.
He is also regarded as a custodian of the traditions and customs of the Yoruba Kingdom. His coronation was attended by dignitaries worldwide, including politicians, business leaders, and traditional rulers.
Since ascending the throne, Ogunwusi has focused on promoting unity and cultural exchange among the various ethnic groups in Nigeria.
He has also emphasized the need to preserve and promote the cultural heritage of the Yoruba Kingdom. In 2016, he organized the first Olojo Festival, a celebration of the world’s creation according to Yoruba mythology.

Philanthropy
Adeyeye Ogunwusi is also known for his philanthropic activities. He established the Hopes Alive Initiative, a non-profit organization that aims to provide support and empowerment to disadvantaged women and youth.
The organization focuses on education, health, and economic empowerment. In 2018, Ogunwusi launched the Moremi Ajasoro Initiative, which aims to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment in Nigeria.
The initiative is named after Moremi Ajasoro, a legendary Yoruba queen who sacrificed herself to save her people from invaders.
