Randy Savage was born to Angelo Poffo and Judy Poffo. His father was also a wrestler and promoter who ran the International Championship Wrestling (ICW) promotion.

His brother, Lanny Poffo, was also a wrestler and commentator. Randy’s parents divorced when he was young, and he and his brother went to live with their mother.

Wrestling Career

Savage began his wrestling career in the 1970s, working for his father’s promotion and other small wrestling companies.

In 1985, he signed with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), which later became the WWE.

Savage quickly became a fan favorite and won his first WWF Championship in 1988. He was known for his flamboyant personality, colorful outfits, and signature catchphrases like “Oh yeah!” and “Snap into a Slim Jim!”

Savage also had notable feuds with other wrestlers, including Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, and Jake “The Snake” Roberts.

On May 20, 2011, Savage suffered a heart attack while driving in Seminole, Florida. He lost control of his car and crashed into a tree.

Savage was taken to a hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after. He was 58 years old.
